“Zionism is Racism”: Distorting the Language of Law

In 1975, the US ambassador to the UN Daniel Patrick Moynihan famously stated in the UN General Assembly that branding Zionism as “racist” devalues the currency of human rights. This “terrible lie…will have terrible consequences,” Moynihan warned. When the language of human rights is “perverted,” if “we destroy the words that were given to us by past centuries, we will not have words to replace them.”

Well, today we are witnessing the terrible consequences of which Moynihan warned. Even the International courts are twisting and distorting legal concepts, in response to politically, ideologically and religiously motivated legal proceedings initiated by states committed to eradicating the Jewish state of Israel.
