thinc. at the Brandeis Center: Teaching International Law, Building a Partnership

Kenneth Marcus, CEO Brandeis Center and Pieter Hoogendoorn, Director thinc.America

On August 4, the ‘Louis D. Brandeis Center for Human Rights Under Law’ organised its annual student leadership conference in its headquarters in Washington DC.

The morning program was dedicated to International Law and comprised four sessions, including three introductions by Prof. Avi Bell, Prof. Steve Zipperstein and Adv. Natasha Hausdorff – all speakers intimately connected with thinc. since 2017. Session 4 was a panel discussion moderated by Pieter Hoogendoorn, Director of thinc.

The conference was attended by 50 participants, and the international law sessions were very well received. They provided a welcome broader perspective alongside the participants’ daily, US-focused work against antisemitism.

A Strategic Partnership

The Brandeis Center’s mission is to advance the civil and human rights of the
Jewish people and promote justice for all. In this regard, Brandeis Center’s mission closely aligns with that of both thinc. and thinc.America. Hence, we are pleased to announce that the Brandeis Center and thinc.America have entered into a partnership under which the Brandeis Center will, among other things, act as thinc.America’s fiscal sponsor for the collection of tax-deductible donations in the USA until thinc.America has obtained the required status on its own. The partnership agreement was signed on September 10, 2026.
